AroundTown: Hit by vehicle,morning walker dies on the spot

AMBALA: A morning walker was killed on the Barara bypass flyover while he was crossing the road.

AMBALA: A morning walker was killed on the Barara bypass flyover while he was crossing the road. The victim has been identified as Darshan Singh,a resident of Barara. When he reached the flyover,an unidentified vehicle hit him from behind. He fell down on the road and died on the spot. The police registered a case against the unknown vehicle driver.

Three cars seized
for selling goods

CHANDIGARH: During an anti-encroachment drive,the Municipal Corporation on Friday seized three cars in which the encroachers were selling their goods in Sector 22. They were using their vehicles for displaying a variety of goods. A total of 105 challans were issued. The team seized a number of items,including furniture,clothes and toys,that were being sold illegally in the market.

2 bodies donated
to PGIMER

CHANDIGARH: The Department of Anatomy,PGIMER,on Friday received two bodies as donation for research. With this,the total number of bodies received this year alone has crossed a dozen. The bodies were of Kartar Kaur from Garhshankar and Manohar Lal Dewan from Sector 9,Panchkula.

800 kg e-waste
collected

CHANDIGARH: An e-waste collection drive on Thursday received a good response from the city,with collections from corporate houses as well as private individual. The project,organised by Confederation of Indian Industry’s Young Indians,Chandigarh Tricity Chapter,in collaboration with the Environment Department of the Chandigarh Administration and Attero Recycling Private Limited,successfully collected 800 kgs of e-waste from the Chandigarh region.

Workshop held
at CRRID

CHANDIGARH: The Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID),Chandigarh,in association with National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA),New Delhi,and with the support of the Ministry of Urban Development,organised a one-day industrial group cities workshop on peer experience and reflective learning in the city.
