Sitting Member of Parliament (MP) of Hassan district in Karnataka, Prajwal Revanna’s election agent has filed a complaint stating that some sleazy, morphed videos of the MP are being widely circulated online.
The complaint was filed on Tuesday by Poornachandra Tejaswi MG, the election agent of the JD(S) and the BJP.
In the complaint, Tejaswi alleged that a person named Naveen Gowda and others have been circulating the videos. “Naveen Gowda and others morphed videos and images and circulated them to the voters in the Hassan Lok Sabha segment through pen drives, CDs and WhatsApp to put Prajwal Revanna in bad light. They are asking the people not to vote for him,” the FIR stated.
Revanna is the grandson of former prime minister H D Devegowda and son of Holenarasipura MLA and former minister H D Revanna. Prajwal Revanna is eyeing a second term and is contesting against Congress candidate Shreyas M Patel, the grandson of G Puttaswamy Gowda.
Puttaswamy Gowda had defeated Devegowda in the 1999 Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket.
The Hassan constituency will see voting on April 26 in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
