The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said it has arrested an auditor/personnel of Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA), working in the office of the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Gandhinagar in Gujarat, in a corruption case.
A statement on Friday said that the CBI had received a complaint from the proprietor of a private company which stated that the accused Ashokkumar Jadav had allegedly demanded Rs 4 lakh to issue a supply order for CCTVs at an Indian Air Force base.
The bribe amount allegedly demanded was approximately 2 percent of the base amount of bid value of Rs 2.5 crore for the project of installation of CCTVs at an Air Force base in Maharashtra, which falls under the South Western Air Command (SWAC) headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The CBI said it laid a trap on September 30 and apprehended the accused while in the act of allegedly accepting Rs 3.5 lakh.
The accused was arrested on September 30 and produced before a Special Judge in Pune, after transit remand was taken from the Special Judge in Ahmedabad. He was remanded to CBI custody until October 4.
