Conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk, 31, a close ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University, in what Governor Spencer Cox called a “political assassination.” The gunman, believed to have fired from a rooftop, struck during an event with 3,000 attendees. Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, had 5.3 million X followers and hosted The Charlie Kirk Show. Trump ordered U.S. flags at half-staff, hailing Kirk as “legendary.” He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
