Arjun Erigaisi bounces back from World Cup heartbreak to claim Jerusalem Masters title
Arjun Erigaisi overcame his disappointment at the FIDE World Cup by winning the Jerusalem Masters tournament, defeating five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand in the final. Anand had beaten Ian Nepomniachtchi in the semi-final, while Arjun defeated Peter Svidler. The 22-year-old expressed his relief at winning and the victory also means he takes home a prize of $55,000.
