Kapil Sharma’s co-star has a business worth Rs 50 cr, was once a pitcher on Shark Tank India: ‘Want a billion dollars’
Actor and entrepreneur Parul Gulati started her own brand Nish Hair in 2017, and it is currently valued at Rs 50 crore.
This actor has been juggling acting and her own business for 8 years now.
Many actors decide to invest money into real estate, start-ups, and other businesses after they have amassed a sizable amount of money. But, it’s very rare to see an actor establishing their business, even before they get a chance to establish their acting career. Actor-entrepreneur Parul Gulati belongs to that category, and she has been juggling her acting career and her company, Nish Hair, at the same time for the last eight years.
Parul Gulati’s hair extensions company
Parul Gulati started her company, Nish Hair, back in 2017. She has previously said that she started her business with just Rs 30,000, and grew her company from the ground up. The company specialises in hair extensions, toppers and wigs. While the amount of funding Parul received during the initial stages is still not publicly known, Nish Hair is now worth over Rs 50 crore, according to industry tracker Traxcn.
In 2023, Parul pitched her brand to the sharks during the Shark Tank India Season 2 finale. The judges, especially Anupam Mittal, were surprised when Gulati said that she’ll sell products worth Rs 5 crore in the upcoming year. Impressed by her product and her confidence, Amit Jain offered her Rs 1 crore for 2% equity. During a behind-the-scenes interaction, Parul had revealed that the idea for starting Nish Hair had come from a very unusual source.

She said, “I was watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and I heard Khloe talk about hair extensions. This was back in 2016, I guess, and I was like, “The day I have my own business, it will be hair extensions.” Her decision did bear fruit, and her brand is on the rise as we speak. During a recent podcast appearance, Gulati talked about her ambition of expanding Nish Hair and, with it, the company’s valuation.
She told host Neet Bherwani that her ultimate goal is becoming a billionaire and that she believes that her company will take her there. “That’s the goal. My mom told me, ‘You have such big dreams, and that scares me sometimes.’ I told her that there is nothing scary about it, and I do want to make a billion dollars. I was recently talking to Anupam Mittal, and he told me that once you cross the Rs 600 crore mark, you have fu** you money. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”
Parul Gulati’s hostel in Goa
Apart from her hair extensions business, Parul is also delving into hospitality as she has now started a hostel in Goa. Called Malkin Hostel, the place is meant for digital nomads who are looking for a comfortable place. The hostel opened in July, but as of last week, the hostel has been closed for renovation.
Parul Gulati’s acting career
Parul made her debut in the 2009 show Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, which also starred Yami Gautam and Gaurav Khanna. Several appearances in web series and short films later came projects like The Raikar Case (2020), Your Honour (2020) and Girl’s Hostel (2018), which elevated her fame to a new and improved level. She will next be seen in the Anukalp Goswami directorial Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, starring Kapil Sharma, Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhury, and Ayesha Khan.
