Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao Monday said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has to be re-elected if schemes like ‘Rythu Bandhu’ have to continue.
Addressing roadshows in Yadagirigutta, Bhongir, and Miryalaguda, K T Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, said K Chandrashekar Rao was the only leader who could come up with a farmer-friendly scheme like Rythu Bandhu.
Ridiculing Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A Revanth Reddy’s comments wherein he said the Congress had a ‘patent’ on free current, KTR asked if quality power was ever supplied when the Congress was in power in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
KTR said Revanth Reddy’s ‘three-hour power cut and use of a 10 hp motor for farming’ statement reflects his knowledge of farming. “Only KCR can give 24-hour power supply. If giving electricity was that easy then why couldn’t the Congress give it?” he said.
“Do you want the current or the Congress?” KTR asked the voters. He further asked the electorate if they wanted to vote for the Congress which gave a Rs 200 monthly pension or the BRS which has been giving a Rs 2,000 pension.
Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KTR said the former Gujarat CM ‘cried’ over LPG cylinder price hike when the BJP was in the opposition, but he has increased cylinder prices by Rs 800 after coming to power at the Centre.
He further said the Telangana government will bear the ‘extra burden’ and provide gas cylinders at Rs 400 to people in the state.
KTR alleged that the Congress could not develop Yadagirigutta while the BRS government developed it into a major pilgrimage centre.
“KCR made Yadagiri into a new district, developed Yadagirigutta temple, gave Rythu Bandhu to the farmers, gave power, water, KCR kit, and also a degree college,” KTR said.
He asked what the Congress did for the people of Yadadri. KTR said Yadadri was being transformed massively, giving competition to Tirupati.
KTR cautioned that the Assembly election will decide the fate of Telangana and asked people to vote wisely on November 30.
