Hailing the BJP’s performance in Haryana polls as a “grand victory,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday thanked the people of the state for giving a clear majority to the party.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said the politics of development and good governance has won, and assured that his party will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

He also extended his gratitude to the party workers for their dedication in ensuring the BJP’s victory. “You have not only served the people of the state to the fullest, but have also taken our agenda of development to them. This is the result of which BJP has got this historic victory in Haryana,” Modi added.

Further, terming the Jammu and Kashmir elections as “very special,” Modi said although polling was held for the first time after the removal of Articles 370 and 35(A), the Union Territory witnessed a high turnout, thus showing the people’s belief in democracy. “I compliment each and every person of Jammu and Kashmir for this,” he said.

He also thanked the people who voted for the BJP, and assured the people that party will keep working for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir.

While the BJP is poised for a historic third term in Haryana, it could not make a similar impact in Jammu and Kashmir as the pre-poll alliance between the National Conference and Congress managed to cross the half-way mark by securing 48 seats with the regional party getting the lion’s share of 42 seats.

BJP however, has emerged the second largest party by winning 29 constituencies in the maiden assembly polls post abrogation of Article 370 in J-K, improving its all-time high tally of 25 seats recorded in 2014 elections.
