Kota Lok Sabha constituency: Kota, one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan, is recognized as a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The constituency is currently composed of eight Vidhan Sabha segments.

In the 2019 elections, Om Birla from the BJP emerged victorious as a Member of Parliament, succeeding Ijyaraj Singh. The BJP won the election against the Congress candidate, Ramnarain Meena, by a significant margin of 279,677 votes.

For the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kota is scheduled to vote in the second phase on April 26, with the counting of votes and announcement of results taking place on June 4. Om Birla from the BJP is set to contest again to retain his seat, this time facing Prahlad Gunjal from the Congress for the Kota constituency.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Om Birla, a politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emerged victorious from the Kota constituency in Rajasthan. He succeeded Ijyaraj Singh and secured a significant victory against the Congress candidate, Ramnarain Meena, with a margin of 279,677 votes.

Before his election to the Lok Sabha, Om Birla had already established a strong political presence in Rajasthan. He served as a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly representing the Kota South Assembly constituency from 2003 to 2014.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he won his first parliamentary election from the Kota-Bundi constituency, further solidifying his political career.

Prahlad Gunjal, hailing from the Gujjar community in Rajasthan, is a former Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for Kota North, elected in 2013. He joined the Indian National Congress (INC) on March 21, 2024, and will contest for Kota in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Before joining the INC, he was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, representing the Kota South Assembly constituency from 2003 to 2014.  In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he won his first Lok Sabha election from Rajasthan’s Kota-Bundi constituency.
