The Pilibhit constituency in Uttar Pradesh voted in Phase 1 on the 19th of April where BJP’s Prasada, the SP’s Bhagwat Saran Gangwar, and Anis Ahmed Khan from the BSP were in the political fray.
The BJP fielded Jitin Prasada, PWD minister in the Yogi Adityanath government, as its candidate from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which comes as a surprise, as the constituency has been a stronghold of the Gandhi family, with Maneka Gandhi or her son Varun Gandhi
The constituency has been historically dominated by the Praja Socialist Party (PSP) in its early years, but the political preferences shifted towards the Indian National Congress (INC), with Menaka Gandhi keeping this seat under her influence.
However, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Pilibhit witnessed a shift towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Varun Gandhi, Maneka Gandhi’s son, winning the seat.
