Sacramento helicopter crash news: A helicopter has reportedly crashed on Sacramento freeway in US’ California on Monday evening and several victims are being reported, CBS News reported. Officials are investigating the incident as Sacramento Fire Department has reached the spot.
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the helicopter crashed on eastbound Highway 50 near Howe Avenue. Officials said that chopper was a REACH helicopter that provides air medical services, reports stated. However, it is still not clear if the helicopter traveling to or from an area hospital.
At least three people have received critical injuries, the Sacramento Fire Department said. The cause of the crash of chopper remains under investigation by the authorities.
After the crash, Eastbound Highway 50 has been fully closed for any vehicular movement at 59th Street. Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty informed about the helicopter crash in a post on X and said, “There has been a harrowing helicopter crash on 50 eastbound west of 59th St.”
Mayor McCarty added, “Thank you to our brave first responders (@SacFirePIO) & ~15 bystanders who assisted Sac Fire until more units arrived on scene. Survivors are being treated at local hospitals.”
