Amid reports of alleged cross-voting by the INDIA bloc MPs in the Vice-Presidential elections, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has claimed that the BJP bought votes by giving “Rs 14 to 15 crore to each MP. B Sudershan Reddy, the INDIA bloc candidate, received 300 votes, which is around a dozen fewer than what should have been polled against him, given the number of Opposition MPs". The Israeli airstrike in Doha targeting the leadership of Hamas may have killed any hopes for the safe return of the 48 hostages, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani said. Speaking to CNN, the Qatari leader also described the airstrike as a barbaric action and state terror. The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is all set for completion with the flag hoisting ceremony scheduled for November 25. The flag hoisting event that would mark the culmination of the grand project is likely to be attended by President Droupadi Murmu. The temple’s first consecration event – the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol — was held on January 22, 2024, and the second Pran Pratishtha of the Temple, in which a statue of Lord Ram in the form of a King at Ram Darbar was consecrated, took place in June this year. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday fired the UK’s ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, over his links to the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Mandelson landed in trouble after emails he sent to Epstein were made public.
