Who is Srinivas Pallia, Wipro’s new CEO and MD?

Following CEO Thierry Delaporte’s resignation, India-based IT giant Wipro Saturday announced Srinivas Pallia as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (MD) with immediate effect.

He will hold the new position for a period of five years, starting Saturday (April 7), Wipro said in an official statement.

Pallia was serving as the CEO of Wipro’s Americas 1, one of the company’s four strategic markets.

Who is Srinivas Pallia?

Srinivas, an alumnus of Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science (IISc), joined Wipro in 1992 as a Product Manager.

Working his way up, he took over as the President of the company’s Consumer Business Unit in New Jersey before being named the CEO of Americas in January 2021.

During his tenure spanning over three decades, he is learnt to have held several leadership positions, including President of Wipro’s Consumer Business Unit and Global head of Business Application Services.


Pallia’s contributions have primarily been towards Wipro’s business performance and growth, his official LinkedIn profile reads. He is also a member of Wipro’s Group Executive Council and Inclusion & Diversity Council.

In 2008, Srinivas was named one of India’s top 25 young business executives by Business Today.

Educational background

With a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Srinivas went on to do a master’s in Technology from IISc Bangalore.

Further, he graduated from Harvard Business School Global Businesses executive program, and completed the Advanced Leadership Program at McGill Executive Institute.
