The who’s who from India and around the world will descend on Gujarat’s Jamnagar from March 1 to 3 to attend the pre-wedding festivities of Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani with Radhika Merchant.
Here is what we know about Radhika Merchant:
Radhika Merchant is the younger daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant. Viren Merchant is the CEO of Encore Healthcare, a renowned pharmaceutical firm.
After studying at the Cathedral and John Connon School, Ecole Mondiale World School, and obtaining an International Baccalaureate diploma from BD Somani International School, Radhika went on to pursue a bachelors’ degree in political science at New York University, graduating in 2017.
Even though Radhika now serves as a director on the board of Encore Healthcare, her LinkedIn profile shows various interships and a job at Isprava, a luxury real estate developer. Isprava is backed by Nadir Godrej, Anand Piramal and Dabur India’s Burman family.
Radhika has undergone years of training in classical dance Bharatnatyam, but her first stage performance or ‘Arangetram’ was held at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre in June 2022. It was a star-studded event with many actors and politicians in attendance. Merchant’s performance started with ‘pushpanjali‘ to invoke the deities, guru and the audience, to seek their blessings, followed by Ganesh Vandana and the traditional Allaripu — prayers for the success of the performance. The invocations were set to traditional ragas and rhythm of aadi tala.
As per her LinkedIn profile, her interests include animal welfare, civil rights, economic empowerment, education, health, human rights and social service.
Radhika got engaged to Anant Ambani at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan in December 2022. An engagement ceremony was later held in January 2023 at Antilia, the Ambani residence in Mumbai.
