21-year-old Kaivalya Vohra, co-founder of quick commerce app Zepto, became the youngest to feature on the 2024 IIFL Wealth-Hurun Indian Rich List with a networth of Rs 3,600 crore. His co-founder, 22-year old Aadit Palicha, is second youngest on the list with a networth of Rs 4,300 crore.
Vohra made his debut on the Hurun India Rich List 2022 at the age of 19 and since then has featured on the list every year.
The 2024 Hurun India Rich List, which includes Indians having a networth of over Rs 1,000 crore, grew by 220 individuals to 1,539 people in 2024. The cumulative wealth has seen a 46 per cent jump in the year. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani replaced Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani to become the richest Indian while actor Shah Rukh Khan made his debut on the list with a fortune estimated at Rs 7,300 crore.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Vohra completed his schooling from Dubai college and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. He dropped out to lay foundation of Kiranakart with Palicha. Kiranakart, an online grocery delivery platform promising groceries within 45 minutes, was later expanded into Zepto in 2021, which was an extension of Kiranakart Technologies Private Limited, as reported by Mint.
Zepto’s LinkedIn profile describes the company as ‘India’s fastest growing e-grocery company valued at $1.4 Billion’. Headquartered in Bengaluru now, Zepto is present across 10 major cities in the country, employs 1000+ employees, and delivers 5000+ products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, daily cooking essentials, dairy, health-and-hygiene products, etc.
