Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of food-aggregator app Zomato, has shared his fitness journey and how he managed to lose 15 kg in four years. Goyal took to Instagram to share his photo from 2019 and also posted a photo from this year showcasing a visible difference in his weight.

The 40-year-old also shared a couple of notes comparing some other parameters like LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, HBAIC and body fat percentage and how he managed to improve these in four years.

“A glance into my personal fitness journey – In 2019, a few months before the pandemic, I started treating my health as an equal priority to my work. Nothing extreme but just maintained consistency. Highlight of 2019 vs 2023 results,” he wrote on Instagram.

In a blog post, Goyal mentioned how he started tracking his carb intake and ate a healthy diet. He said he ordered it from Zomato because Indian home-cooked food is dominated by carbs and worked out regularly. He said he indulged in his favourite cheat meals like chole bhature, butter chicken only on weekends and tried to be consistent with healthy habits.

He also highlighted how his company prioritises fitness and encourages employees to embrace an active lifestyle. He shared how their Gurgaon headquarters has one of the city’s largest gyms, and they have an in-house mental health team. He also shared that they have now created a new position, that of a Chief Fitness Officer (CFO). The new CFO will work with an in-house wellness team of trainers, nutritionists and wellbeing counsellors, Goyal shared in the blog post.

Goyal’s Instagram post has received more than 2,700 likes so far.

“Feels like India is ordering frm zomato and you eating home!” a user joked. “Would love to see the journey in a bit more detail.
