A dashcam clip of a tense cab ride in India has gone viral, sparking a heated discussion about ride-hailing etiquette and boundaries between passengers and drivers. The video, circulating widely on X and Instagram, shows a woman walking out of a taxi without paying after a dispute over her drop-off point.

The footage opens with the passenger warning the driver, “Main bhi bina payment ke nikal jaungi” (I’ll also leave without paying). Staying calm, the driver replies, “Aap bina payment ke nikal jayenge? Jaaiye” (You’ll leave without paying? Go ahead).

According to the clip, the disagreement began when the woman insisted on being taken “inside” beyond the destination entered on the app. The driver stands firm, asking, “Why should I go inside when the location is here?”

As the exchange escalates, the driver tells her she’s free to complain if she wants, but he won’t drive further than the booked location. He sarcastically remarks, “I don’t mind, neither you nor I becoming rich over Rs 132, urging her not to stress over the fare.

The woman then lashes out, “cursing the moment” she booked his cab, and allegedly switches to an impolite tone to address him. Irked by the woman’s choice of words, the cab driver asks her to speak politely, but she refuses. Moments later, she exits the vehicle without paying.

The clip has amassed millions of views. Most commenters are backing the driver, praising him for staying composed and saying he fulfilled his duty. Others criticised the woman’s tone, while a minority argued the driver could have been more flexible.

A user wrote, “Respect to the driver. Every job has dignity in India; drivers don’t get the respect they deserve.” Another user commented that cab drivers aren’t always wrong. “They’ll drop you at the location entered. What kind of entitlement is it to demand they drop you wherever you say? Good thing there was video proof!” the user reacted.

A third person lauded the driver for keeping his calm and being very respectful throughout. “Hate when people talk disrespectfully to others for literally no reason other than their ego. Everyone should learn to have the minimum decency to stay respectful,” the person said

However, a fourth individual asked what the problem was in dropping her inside some building compound?
