As the nation mourns the loss of Ratan Tata, Union Minister Piyush Goyal couldn’t hold back his tears while reminiscing about the time spent with the beloved industrialist. Talking to ANI, Goyal said, “The small and thoughtful gestures which make the man the Ratan Tata – 140 crore Indians love and the world loves.”
In the emotional video, Goyal recalled the time Tata visited his Mumbai home for breakfast. The breakfast spread was simple with idli, dosa and sambar. Goyal was moved by how appreciative Tata was about the breakfast, despite it being so modest, and considering he is someone with access to world-class chefs. The minister also spoke about how Tata treated everyone with respect, including the server who brought the meal.
Goyal fondly remembered, “At the end of a very beautiful couple of hours that he had spent at home when he was leaving, he asked my wife very sweetly – would you like to take a picture with me? We really wanted to, but were too shy to ask.”
