Delhi BJP is giving away one laddoo per family to appreciate the patience they showed while standing in ATM and bank queues. (Source: File Photo) Although more than a month has passed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of demonetisation of high-value currency notes, people continue to stand in never-ending lines leading to banks and ATMs to withdraw their hard-earned cash. And to "thank them for their patience" Delhi BJP has directed its officials to distribute laddoos to every household in the city as a token of appreciation. Now, as much as that seems like an unusual news to hear, with some even calling it an act of "rubbing salt on wounds", the government has also been particular that only one laddoo-per-household will be distributed. While many Twitter users wished it was a fake news, the newly appointed Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari confirmed the decision. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched this revolutionary step to tackle black money. Despite facing some inconvenience, people supported the move. Now, it is our turn to thank them and show our appreciation and respect for their patience,” he said, talking to The Indian Express. While many have come to troll the government for the futility of the decision, a group started a hilarious discussion equating the distribution of laddoos to people's dwindling access to their own money now, thanks to demonetisation.
