Ridiculing talented artistes on social media seems to have become an obnoxious trend nowadays. From slut-shaming female actors for wearing ‘inappropriate’ clothes to body-shaming them for being either too thin or fat, ‘faceless’ and ‘nameless’ trolls have spread an air of negativity on the Internet. As if that wasn’t enough, there are some who have slammed women for wearing a sari too! Recently, Sonam Kapoor became the subject of such crude and crass comments when she posted a video of chilling by the poolside with her ‘Veere Di Wedding’ co-stars.
The actress was lying down in a strapless bikini on a poolside bed in Phuket with the gang. Sharing it with her followers, her co-star and friend Swara Bhaskar wrote, “When u are dog tired after a looooooong flight.. actually two.. but still gotta chill out with your #Veere At @amanpuri #Phuket with @sonamkapoor @rheakapoor @shikhatalsania #VeereJustWannaChill missing #kareenakapoorkhan #VeereInThailand also yeah.. upside down video whatever!!! 😒”
No sooner did she upload it, the comments section was filled with distasteful comments for Kapoor’s body. The online trolls not only questioned her choice of attire but also called her “flat”. Several comments were profane and reflected an extremely bad taste.
