Serving the country by donning the uniform is a proud moment not only for soldiers but their families as well. And now, an undated video of a Sikh soldier who was greeted to a grand welcome by his family as he returned home from training is going viral as the country celebrates its 77th Independence Day.

Sandeep Thapar, an Army veteran, shared the video on X (formerly called Twitter) and wrote, “The pride in this family when their young one becomes a soldier. Till the tradition of ‘Namak, Naam aur Nishan’ runs in our veins, our nation is safe. Happy Independence Day.”

The video shows the Sikh man, who is donning his Army uniform, being greeted by his family members as he gets out of the car. A red carpet is laid out for him and he marches towards his house where his family awaits him. “Welcome back home” is written on the ground with a piece of chalk and two guns are also drawn.

The clip then shows that first he salutes his mother and then bends down to touch her feet. He then gives her a hug as the other family members shower flower petals on him. He then hugs his other family members and shares some warm moments with them.
