With millions of fans across the globe, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) is a name to reckon with. Back in 2010, the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’ met music royalty Shakira in South Africa during the FIFA World Cup and went on record praising her kindness and grace. Soon after, the Colombian singer-songwriter too posted about Khan.

Now, the decade-old tweet by Shakira in which the Grammy-winning pop star praises SRK is gaining traction again. In the 2010 post, Shakira had written, “@iamsrk I’ve always been a huge fan… would love to do something together some day! Big kiss, Shak”.

On June 22, 2023, Twitter user @holdandbold retweeted the old post with a video of SRK and wrote, “It’s dream for other stars to get recognised by international celebs like Shakira and here
@iamsrk hasn’t even replied to her yet SIGMA from the days since the term wasn’t popular.”

Nevertheless, here are the tweets posted by King Khan after he met Shakira in which he describes her as “gracious & absolutely heartwarming” and “so real”.

On July 13, 2010, after SRK met Shakira he had tweeted, “@shakira thank you so much for ur graciousness. you are a fabulous star. the kids think of me as a big hero now. may God bless you. love srk”. He also wrote, “will upload family pic with her. she was so humble & so real. thats why she is such a rockstar. said my name with a beautiful accent too.”

This is not the only time global celebrities have been associated with SRK. In 2000, Khan presented the Best Actress Award at the IIFA ceremony with Angelina Jolie by his side. Incidentally, it was the first-ever IIFA awards, and the ceremony was held at the Millennium Dome in London.
