An emotional Reddit post has struck a chord with thousands, as a young man shared the heart-breaking struggles of his father, 65, a physics teacher enduring constant humiliation at his workplace. The post has sparked widespread discussions about the mistreatment of senior educators in private schools.

The son described his father as a dedicated teacher with an MSc from IIT Kharagpur and over three decades of experience. Despite his qualifications, he is subjected to daily insults and disrespect. “His only wish is to be respected, which apparently is too much to ask for in private schools,” the son wrote.

In a particularly distressing moment, he recalled a phone call where his father broke down in tears. “He said he cannot take it anymore,” the son wrote in the post. Having lost his mother just a year ago, the young man expressed his overwhelming fear of losing his father too: “I cannot afford to lose him. He’s the only parent I have left. He’s my whole world.”

Financial hardships have forced the son to put his education on hold and take up freelance writing to support their household, but it is not enough. He also revealed that his father’s life has been marked by struggle—abandoned by his own family, he fought against the odds to educate himself and build a career.

In a heart-felt plea, he turned to the online community for help. “If you guys need a physics teacher, my dad would love to teach. He can teach both school and college students. I’ve been teaching him how to take online classes, and he would really appreciate it.”

Another Redditor commented, “Please try offline coaching institutes as they are always looking for iitians and i am pretty sure someone will hire him without any second thought.”

A third user wrote, “Please try online or offline coaching like pw aakash allen. Your dad is very much experienced plus he’s from iit he can be easily appointed as a senior/head teacher in the coaching and will be paid a pretty decent amount. Also he will be given a lot of respect there because of his experience and qualifications.”

This is not the first instance of someone using social media to support their parents. Recently, a young woman from Delhi turned to LinkedIn to help her father find a job. She shared his experience in the automobile industry and described him as “conscientious, hardworking, loyal, empathetic, and exceptionally talented.”
