A woman, who lost her balance and fell while deboarding from a moving train, was rescued at Mumbai’s Borivali railway station. In a dramatic video shared by the Ministry of Railways, a security officer is seen rushing to the woman’s rescue after she lost her balance and fell.

The viral video captures the woman perilously close to being dragged into the gap between the train and the platform, which could have led to severe injury or even death. However, the quick actions of the security personnel saved her.

Sharing the video on X, the Ministry of Railways wrote, “At Borivali railway station in Maharashtra, a woman lost her balance and fell while getting down from a moving train. The railway security personnel present there showed promptness and saved her. Please do not try to board or alight from a moving train.”

The video amassed over 7,50,000 views, with many social media users demanding automatic doors on Indian trains. Several users slammed the woman for being an irresponsible passenger. “Fine the lady for getting down from a moving train. It would have also resulted the train halting and wasting precious time thus causing revenue loss,” a user wrote. “Can’t automated door system be provided for all coaches immediately? This will reduce such incidents and stop allowing crowds of passengers,” another user commented.

“Reason – Trains provide stop for just 1 – 2 minutes, how can senior citizens, physically challenged, those with children n luggage get down in that time..?” a third user said.

Last month, a similar incident took place at Mumbai’s Andheri railway station, where a 40-year-old man was rescued after slipping and falling while trying to board a moving train.
