People who have lived in Mumbai praise the spirit of the city dwellers for having patience and respecting each other. A video posted on Twitter captures this spirit pretty well as it shows people standing in a serpentine queue waiting for an autorickshaw at a railway station.
Twitter user Godman Chikna (@Madan_Chikna) shared the video Thursday and it has amassed 8.08 lakh views so far. The clip begins by showing people standing in a queue on a bridge. As the person recording the video moves on the bridge, it appears to be never-ending. However, despite such a long waiting time, people don’t seem pressed while waiting for their turn and there is no chaos.
From the bridge to the road, there seem to be more than a 100 people waiting for their turn to board an autorickshaw. The video is from Dombivli, a suburban city located on the banks of Ulhas river in Thane and is a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. “The Auto Rickshaw queue in Dombivli during evening peak hours showcases people’s remarkable patience,” says the caption.

The video, however, didn’t impress netizens who said it was not the spirit of the people but their helplessness.
“Wondering what would all do if there were no mobile phones,” commented a user. “Would they get home faster walking?” wondered another user. “In this scenario, Walking is probably the best option. Save money, get health benefits for free,” suggested a third.
“What a sheer waste of time,” posted another person. “I’m feeling sad looking at this,” another user said. “That’s like waste of important time of your life, if it’s a commute for the whole week. What can be done about it? Aren’t there options like ride sharing on two wheelers available?” another netizen wrote.
