There is no rain song in Bollywood that evokes more nostalgia than RD Burman’s Rimjhim Gire Saawan from the 1979 film “Manzil”. The song, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee, is filmed against the backdrop of rainy Mumbai.

Now, a recreation of this iconic song by an elderly couple is raking in likes on social media. A Twitter user Arun Panicker (@panix68), shared an undated video that showed an elderly couple, dressed like Bachchan and Chatterjee, recreating the song in a frame-by-frame manner.

As per Twitter user D Prasanth Nair (@DPrasanthNair), the couple featured in the video were Shailesh Inamdaar and his wife Vandana. The video was shot by their friends Anup Ringangaavkar and his wife Ankita.

Commenting on this video, a Twitter user wrote, “This is so so cute. And one of my fav songs. The simple life of the yesteryears so well shown in this song. No 500 dancers dancing in vulgarly choreographed hip gyrations in sync with hero & heroine. This song has the class of simplicity.”

Another person remarked, “Lovely – and this is my fave old Bombay video and monsoon song. But where did they find a space like the Marine Drive of old? I don’t see the hideous coastal road construction in the newer images.”

A Twitter user cautioned, “Just a suggestion. Don’t stand near electric poles or Street lamps. Bollywood is different from real life urban infrastructure”.
