‘Futuristic vision’: Natasha Poonawalla stuns the Internet with her Schiaparelli’s motherboard-infused haute couture dress. Watch here

Be it the Met Gala or a high-profile wedding, Natasha Poonawalla has been turning heads with her fashion statements over the years. The socialite and the executive director at the Serum Institute of India did it again as she appeared at Harper Bazaar’s Women of the Year awards ceremony in a dress inspired by technology.

Poonawalla, who won the Style Icon Award at the event, wore Elsa Schiaparelli’s haute couture from its Spring/Summer 2024 Paris Fashion Week. The motherboard-infused shiny mini dress featured old mobile phones, cameras, calculators, CDs, chipsets, and CPU coolers. Sharing the video, Diet Sabya, an Instagram handle dedicated to fashion and lifestyle, wrote, “Mrs Vaccine is truly THAT gworl.”

The said video garnered likes from Karan Johar, Orhan Awatramani, Uorfi Javed, and others. Reacting to it, a user commented, “It should have solar panels too, so it can generate some electricity!” Another user wrote, “She is what the Fabulous lives panel needed vs Bollywood wives!!”

“Imagine her in fabulous lives of bollywood wives no delhi no mumbai only mrs vaccinations,” a third user said. “Futuristic Vision that’s quite cool,” another user wrote.

According to the official website of Schiaparelli, the vintage-inspired dress also features a curved bracelet in acrylic, Swarovski crystals, and a matching minaudiere with a signature Keyhole. “Robot dress enhanced with exaggeratedly rounded shoulders entirely embroidered with Swarovski crystal jewels and electronic chips in silver and green,” the website read.

The website described the footwear as “Black leather cowboy-inspired mules embellished with a metal toe cap and signature ‘S’-shaped heels.”
