A video that recently went viral on social media has raised serious concerns about rider safety. Titled “When your Rapido driver is DRUNK, so you have to drop yourself at home,” it shows a man in Mumbai facing an unusual and alarming situation.

The person had booked a ride through a bike taxi-hailing service, only to find that the driver who arrived to pick him up was allegedly intoxicated. While most people in such a scenario might cancel the ride immediately, the man chose a different course of action.

He later posted the video on Instagram, showing himself riding a two-wheeler while the assigned driver rode pillion. The clip also captures a short conversation between them, though the audio is mostly incoherent.

In his caption, he explained that the incident took place past midnight. “Rapido, I think all the employees at your company are drunk too. What an irresponsible company, even after calling the SOS line, there wasn’t any response. This happened on 4th August, 2025, at 12:57 am,” he wrote.

The man also highlighted that even six days later, no one from Rapido’s senior management had addressed his complaint. He ended his post with, “Simply lovely how you guys are putting people in danger!”

We look forward to serving you again, ensuring a seamless experience. Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance, and we are always here to help,” it added.

Netizens also weighed in, with many expressing shock and concern over the incident and urging stricter safety measures for ride-hailing services. A user wrote, “Rapido customer care never replies, one time a friend of mine was facing harassment and when tried reporting about it after in the app, no reply for hours and when they text back at their own time if you don’t reply back in couple mins they magical close the ticket as if the harassment never happened. Just don’t use it.”

Another individual wrote, “Even the rapido driver dropped me in half road in the middle of nowhere I tried to reach out the customer care but no response at all Gurgaon.”
