Anshika, a Mumbai-based food vlogger, was shocked to find a dead insect in a burger ordered from Burger King. In a video on Instagram, the vlogger showed the dead insect in the patty inside the half-eaten burger.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, Anshika shared that she demanded compensation for “mental agony and health suffering”. However, she claimed the company offered burgers or an Amazon voucher as compensation. “They were offering burgers or an Amazon voucher but how will a voucher pay for my medical expenses,” she said.

Anshika also shared that the company took three-four days to send an apology.

“I found a dead insect in my Burger King order today. And it just made me feel like vomiting right now but I wanted to report this issue. Burger King, this is not acceptable,” she says in the video.

After the video drew the Internet’s attention, Burger King responded to the video, requesting “patience”. “Hi, we have forwarded your issue to the concerned team and they shall reach out to you soon. Request your patience in the meantime,” the company wrote.

Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “Please take strict action or else we make sure your outlet get closed ASAP with all legal formalities.” Another user commented, “Complaint at consumer court.. complaining at store no action will take.”

Last week, a retired school principal found four dentures in the chocolate she received at a child’s birthday party. On eating the chocolate from a popular brand, she found it difficult to chew and felt a crunch. She took it out and was taken aback when she found a set of four false teeth.
