The festive season is synonymous with sales and offers in stores, as well as on e-commerce platforms. As shoppers wait for Flipkart’s Big Billion Days, which goes live on September 23, a video highlighting the workload on employees working at the e-commerce giant has sparked debate over a toxic work environment.
Sharing an Instagram reel, Simrann M Bhambani, a Flipkart employee, explains how employees have to overwork due to such festive sales. The now-viral video, which has garnered over a million views, shows mattresses and pillows arriving at the e-commerce giant’s Bengaluru office as employees extend their shifts.
“Yess we do night stays in office #flipkart #bbd Have you done night stay in your office?” the caption reads. The text displayed on the video says, “Big Billion Days. POV: It’s gonna be a longgg weekend. 2 days to go.”

The video quickly drew attention, triggering a range of reactions. “We are doing the same from last 4 days but behind every sleepless night lies the blueprint of tomorrow success,” a social media user wrote. “Glorifying toxic work culture is a flex these days,” another user commented.
“hope I never see a day where I have to sleep in office and that too on such filthy mattresses,” a third user reacted. “And you are proud of this? Smirking with goggles? We should not promote this culture of labor work,” a fourth user chimed in.
The Flipkart Big Billion Days 2025 will commence on September 23, offering discounts on electronics, tech, apparel, home and kitchen products, and more. Customers with Flipkart Plus and Black members will benefit from the early access feature, which began on September 22.
