A video of a man seen riding a motorcycle with a woman in his lap on the International Airport road in Bengaluru has gone viral, prompting the city police to take action against the driver. The incident, which happened on May 17, came to light after social media users tagged Bengaluru police in the video, demanding stringent action.
The video, also shared by the Bengaluru Traffic Police on X, shows the man riding his bike with the woman sitting on his lap without wearing a helmet. According to the video, the man was trying to impress his girlfriend and was later arrested by the Hebbal Traffic Police.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police wrote on X, “Hey thrill-seekers, the road isn’t a stage for stunts! Keep it safe for everyone, including yourselves. Let’s ride responsibly.”
The text in the video reads, “Bengaluru is the city to cherish, not a place to mess around.”

The video garnered more than 22,000 views and many users applauded the Bengaluru police. However, a section of social media users also demanded the woman’s arrest as well. A user commented, “Why not that girl, why can’t she be arrested.? Arrest her too.” Another user wrote, “What abt girl? Unfortunately Law only targets d boys!”
“Great felicitated very soon…highly appreciated…I will be glad n more happy if they are caught right at the next signal without any delay n damage to others,” the third user reacted.
In February, the Bengaluru police arrested a man for allegedly biting a traffic police constable’s fingers when the officer caught him riding without a helmet and tried to take a photo.
