A chilling rescue occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district after a SUV plunged into a pond while its driver attempted to avoid hitting a child. The vehicle, driven by one Shubham Tiwari, slid into the water and began to sink rapidly, leaving him trapped and helpless.
According to a video shared by Piyush Rai, a journalist, Tiwari lost consciousness as the vehicle went under. A man who was on a boat saw the accident and immediately rushed towards the sinking SUV. Without a second thought, the man, identified as Faizal, leapt into the water and battled both the strong currents and the vehicle’s weight to reach the unconscious driver.
Eyewitness videos, now widespread on social media, show Faizal struggling against the rising water as he pulls Tiwari free from the sinking vehicle. His timely and courageous efforts turned a near-certain tragedy into a miraculous rescue, ultimately saving Tiwari’s life.
“Shubham Tiwari, driving a SUV landed in a pond while trying to save a kid on the road in UP’s Pilibhit. In a daring rescue, Faizal on a boat put his life on the line and showed exemplary courage to save Tiwari drowing with the SUV. The victim was finally rescued and extricated out of the pond,” Rai wrote on X.

The video quickly gained traction, prompting a wave of reactions. “Tiwari saved kids by his action, Faisal saved Tiwari by his action. Real issue is why kids were playing on the road, parents should be taken to task,” an X user noted. “Salute to his braveness. Till the end he didn’t give up,” another user commented.
“Faizal, the brave boat owner, deserves the highest honour. Heroes like him keep humanity alive. If anyone can help me with his complete details, I’ll gladly offer ₹10,000 as a small token of gratitude for saving a precious life,” a third user reacted.
