Man says he was denied entry to Nagpur bank for wearing shorts, video goes viral

In the video, the man can be seen arguing with the security guard of a bank after allegedly being denied entry to the branch because he was not dressed appropriately.

A video purportedly showing a man being stopped from entering a Bank of India branch in Nagpur because he was wearing shorts went viral recently.

The video shows a person arguing with a security guard who allegedly refused to let him enter the bank because he was wearing shorts and not trousers. The man can be heard asking if there is a rule on how customers should dress while entering a bank but the guard does not respond.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. There was a similar case in a bank in Kolkata in 2021.

While a lot of people on the internet reacted to the video, saying such ‘rules’ were unfair and discriminatory, others said there was no official dress code for customers.

Upon seeing the video, one user said, “Orthodox security guard spotted”. A second X user wrote, “Leave everything, Just look at the security guard’s fingers with rings! My goodness, is that guy earning in lakhs?” And a third went on to say, “I was also denied entry and I went back home.”
