Mahakumbh Mela 2025 has attracted crores of devotees from across the country to Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. The world’s largest religious event involves devotees taking a sacred dip at Sangam, the convergence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati river. Amid a sea of videos circulating on social media from the congregation, a heart-warming video of a man attending Kumbh mela with his pet dog is winning plaudits.
The viral video shows the man and his pet, a beagle dog, taking the holy dip at Sangam. The video captures the man and his dog wading into the river, the dog calmly walking by his side, as the man offers a prayer before taking the dip. As they emerge from the river, the man pats the dog. Several other devotees, including a cop, pet the dog.
Sharing the video on Instagram, the man wrote, “I believe every thing is written…and no plans of taking him with me he was going to stay at home and then he comes sit in a car and didn’t get out… and masoom sa face banaliya (he made an innocent face)…then I was like chalo yaar isse bhi leke chalte hai (let us take him along)….everything is written .. Zorawar (dog) lska likha hoga kuch karam honge iske apne jo isko kumbh tk leke Aagye (Must have been written for him, must have done some deeds that brought him to Kumbh). Be kind Har har Mahadev.”
