A family in the Kovaya village of Amreli, Gujarat, was left in a state of shock and fear on Monday night when a lion entered their home through the roof. The terrifying encounter was captured on video and has since gone viral.

According to a local report, Mulubhai Rambhai Lakhannotra’s family was asleep in their house when the lion made its way in through an opening in the roof. The sudden intrusion caused panic, but the quick response from the nearby villagers prevented any casualties. After a tense few moments, the lion was chased off as several villagers rushed to the scene, shouting to drive the animal away.

The now-viral video shows the lion perched on the kitchen wall, peering into the house as a torch light is shone on its face to scare it away.

The report further stated that around five other lions have been spotted roaming the village market. The lion had wandered out of a nearby forest and roamed through the residential area before sneaking into Lakhanotra’s kitchen.

In April 2024, a leopard entered a house in North Delhi’s Wazirabad and injured three people. In 2016, an adult leopard entered a village in the Jagatpur area. After multiple sightings were reported by residents, forest department officials captured the animal and relocated it to Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand.
