Music has a way of cutting through the noise of everyday life and reaching the heart. Sometimes, it doesn’t take a big stage or a glossy production to move people—just a few instruments, a little harmony, and a lot of sincerity. That’s exactly what a family from Kerala managed to capture in their soulful rendition of the timeless Bollywood song Tere Bina.

The video, shared by Fathima Shadha on Instagram, shows a simple yet heartfelt performance. Fathima plays the violin with grace, her sister gently strums the guitar, and their father keeps the rhythm alive on the tabla. Together, they create a raw, unfiltered version of the A R Rahman classic that struck a chord with thousands online.

What started as a family jam session quickly grew into something bigger, as the clip began making rounds on social media. Listeners praised not only the musicality but also the warmth and intimacy of the performance. The moment reached a peak when Rahman, the composer himself, noticed the video and responded with a short but meaningful comment: “MashaAllah.”

For many fans, Rahman’s acknowledgment was more powerful than any amount of likes or shares. One Instagram user wrote, “Everyone can delete their comments and praises. A.R. Rahman himself commented and appreciated.” Another echoed the sentiment: “I was about to drop my comment, but then I saw AR Rahman sir’s comment… and honestly, what more can I even add after that?”

Many others expressed their admiration by dropping heart and clap emojis in the comments section.

Released in 2007 as part of Mani Ratnam’s film Guru, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, Tere Bina remains one of Rahman’s most cherished pieces, an evergreen ballad of love and longing.
