Nigerian singer and songwriter Rema’s Calm Down has become a global hit. Many artists have given their own twist to the song since its release in February 2022.

Now a fusion dance routine on the hit song is going viral on Instagram. The choreography shows three dancers incorporating kathak into the beats of Calm Down. The steps are so in sync with the song that even the chimes of their ghungroo match with the song.

Dancer Sayalai (@sayali_iadc) shared a clip from their performance on Instagram. While sharing the video, Sayali wrote, “ANOTHER BANGER🔥Performed CALM DOWN @universalmusicindia in front of the Singer @heisrema himself in our style and also did the famous HOOK with the SEMI-CLASSICAL TOUCH!”.

This video has gathered over eight lakh likes since it was posted on June 22. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Watching on loop. Not only the dance but the ghunghroo has complemented the song so well that it sounds like a great redention”.

Another person wrote, “Never imagined that there could something like this can also exist. Classical+Western=🔥”. This is not the first time that desi artists have given a traditional twist to Calm Down. In January, musicians Nihal Singh and Shobhit Banwait covered this song on a tabla.
