The animal in the video was identified as a pangolin. The mammals, covered in scales, are widely distributed in India. Sharing more information about the animal, Kaswan wrote, “It’s a pangolin. The pangolins are heavily trafficked for their scales and their use in CTM. They are harmless creature. They are found in large parts of India, both Chinese and Indian pangolin. The one in video was also getting smuggled. On time the smuggling racket was busted with an arrest by our teams and this pangolin was released in wild. The case is still going in court. Moving towards conviction. The most trafficked mammal on earth is still Human.”

In May, Kaswan had shared a video of a rescued leopard being released into a forest. The clip shows a leopard being released from a cage on the back of a small pick-up truck. As soon as the leopard realises it is being set free, it runs toward the forest.

Kaswan shared the clip with the caption, “That leopard was in some hurry. Successfully rescued & released in wild. Without any untoward incident. Yesterday night by our teams. Forest is a 24X7 job.”
