Among numerous videos of people exercising their franchise in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, a video of a Gujarat man voting with his toe is winning hearts on the internet.
The viral video also shows that Ankit Soni got the purple-black indelible ink applied on his toe.
Speaking to ANI news agency, Soni shared his tragic story of how he lost both his hands in an electric shock 20 years ago. He has been using his legs to perform essential tasks. He did not let his disability restrain him from pursuing education; he holds an MBA degree.
Towards the end of the video, Soni urged people to visit the nearest polling booth and vote.
ANI wrote on the X website, “Nadiad, Gujarat: Ankit Soni, a voter, casts his vote through his feet at a polling booth in Nadiad. He says, “I lost both my hands due to electric shock 20 years ago. With the blessings of my teachers and guru, I did my graduation, CS… I appeal to people to come out and vote.”
