There’s something irresistibly heartwarming about dogs. They have this effortless ability to turn everyday moments into something special. Be it chasing their own tails or just snoozing in the sun, their charm is unmatched. But when a dog decides to join in on a gully cricket match? That’s when the internet truly loses it.
A viral video from X is doing the rounds, and it stars none other than a labrador that has taken wicket-keeping to an entirely new level. In the clip, the dog is seen crouched neatly behind the stumps, fully locked in like a pro, tail wagging, eyes fixed on the ball. As the bowler steams in and the batsman either leaves or blocks, our four-legged keeper springs into action, either attempting to catch the ball or dashing off after it.
In just 14 seconds, the dog wins everyone over. Across three deliveries, it either collects the ball with surprising finesse or races to retrieve it, and the dog’s enthusiasm is infectious. When the batsman finally smacks a six, the dog runs toward the bowler as if to offer moral support. One viewer hilariously noted, “He even went to talk to the bowler after being hit for a six.”
With over 80,000 views already, the comments are pure gold. Someone wrote, “Ahh never thought of this idea, even our dog loved catching the ball,” while another hailed him as the “Best Wicket Keeper”. And of course, no viral Indian moment is complete without a cheeky Thala reference: “Dogesh has 6 words 6+1=7 .. thala for a reason.”
This isn’t the first time a dog’s human-like antics have stolen the show online. Another clip doing the rounds shows a golden retriever patiently waiting next to a fruit vendor, seemingly collecting his daily “fruit tax” just for being adorable.
