Heavy rain on Tuesday evening caused chaos across Delhi and its adjoining cities, including Gurugram in Haryana, as well as Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, triggering traffic congestion and leaving several key roads submerged due to severe waterlogging during peak hours.
In Delhi, major traffic was reported from several high-traffic zones, including Connaught Place to Dhaula Kuan, Patparganj, IFFCO Chowk, the Airport-Dhaula Kuan stretch, NH8, and areas near Sadar Metro station on Dwarka Road. In Gurugram, commuters were, once again, stuck in traffic for hours.
Soon after the rain, social media was flooded with videos and photos capturing inundated streets, stalled vehicles, and crawling traffic, with commuters taking it to X to share their ordeals.
“This is Gurgaon after just 20 minutes of rain—roads full of potholes and waterlogging everywhere. What exactly is the government doing? Can’t they see people suffering? High rents, expensive real estate and this is what we’re paying for, Cyber City huh?” a user wrote.
Sharing a video of the traffic congestion, a journalist wrote, “The irony of glitzy shiny millenium city #Gurgaon #Gurugram the #gurgaonrain #GurgaonRains have thrown traffic out of gear on NH8 . Massive traffic jam as it development crawls. #DelhiRains #delhincrrain #viral @TrafficGGM @dtptraffic.”
