Parle Glucose, popular as Parle-G biscuits, has been a staple in almost every Indian household for decades and was favourite among the kids of the 1990s. The biscuit brand is often associated with childhood memories, as it was a common tea-time snack in Indian houses.

However, these memories took a ‘dark’ turn after a picture of the chocolaty flavour of the biscuit, Dark Parle-G, went viral. Keeping the packaging as simple as the ‘real’ Parle-G, the viral picture shows a white-red-black-coloured packet. The text on the packet read, “Delicious Chocolaty. Dark Parle-G Biscuits.”

Take a look at the post here:

Soon after the picture took over the internet, social media users jumped to react to it. While a section of users believe it to be an AI-generated picture, others frown at the idea of ‘dark’ Parle-G. A user commented, “It’s orio (Oreo) from 1980.” Another user commented, “Not looking good.”

“This is edited or real?” wondered the third user. “I don’t know if it’s real or not but @ParleFamily. please consider start making it this looks so damn delicious,” requested another user.

Meanwhile, there is no mention of Dark Parle-G on the brand’s official website.
