The complaint also added, "Lord Rama did not think for a single moment how a woman could live alone amid wild animals, including reptiles and mammals, in the forest."

It was a day for Lord Ram on Twitter, but what for? It was certainly not Ram Navami (Lord Ram’s birth anniversary celebrations) nor Diwali, then why did ‘he’ suddenly make the virtual world remember him.

Well, the buzz was created when a Bihar court agreed to hear a petition filed against Lord Ram, for the ‘cruelty showed’ towards his wife, Sita.

A report by the Hindustan Times said, a senior lawyer filed the case in the court of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) in Sitamarhi, north Bihar.

The report quoted the complainant as saying, “The Devi was exiled (given ‘vanvasa’) for no fault of hers. It was a hypocritical order from king Rama. How can a man become so cruel to his wife that he sends her off to live in a forest? Lord Rama did not think for a single moment how a woman could live alone amid wild animals, including reptiles and mammals, in the forest.”

As hearing of the case is scheduled for Monday, twitterarti reacted to this rather bizarre case:
