A restaurant in South Bengaluru has sparked conversation online with an unusual request to its diners. A board displayed inside the eatery asks visitors to refrain from discussing real estate or politics while they dine.
An X user shared a photo of the board that reads: “This facility is only for dine-in purpose, not for real estate/political discussions. Please understand and cooperate.” The post was captioned, “Clear instructions alright,” and it quickly caught the Internet’s attention.
Many people on X pointed out that such signs are fairly common in Bengaluru’s restaurants, particularly in places where groups tend to occupy tables for long periods while ordering very little. Some users recalled seeing similar messages in well-known eateries around the city.
One user vented their frustration about loud conversations in cafés, saying, “Good, I want to punch them when I see them in CCD… Absolute morons, no common sense of public decency… Keep talking rubbish loudly… 10 ppl enter, order 5 coffees, and bring the roof down…!”
Another wrote, “I remember A2B restaurant in Yelahanka also has a similar board.”
However, not everyone agreed with the rule. One user wrote, “Weird, why does he have to police what people are talking? They are paying for the food they eat, no?”
This isn’t the first time Bengaluru has been in the spotlight for quirky reasons. Recently, an ad in Nayandahalli, promoting a matrimonial service, went viral for a hilarious typo. Instead of writing “Bride and Groom Information Centre,” the sign said “Bride and Broom Information Centre.”
