A Bengaluru entrepreneur’s Rapido cab ride turned into an interesting tale of one of the most eventful social lives he had come across. Shaheer Ahmed shared how his Rapido cab driver spent nearly an hour on a series of speakerphone calls, each more dramatic than the last.
The driver first received a distressing call from a friend who confessed that the girl he loved was in love with someone else and said he could not take it anymore, hinting at self-harm. The driver immediately called another friend to rush to the distressed man’s location to ensure his safety.
“First, his friend calls him & says the girl he loves actually loves someone else (starts crying), and he can’t take it & wants to k*ll himself. So he then calls another friend to immediately go & handle him till he arrives,” Ahmed wrote.
The calls didn’t end there. The driver also discussed how another friend allegedly tried to scam Uber using his photo, resulting in his ID being blocked, complained about Bengaluru’s notorious traffic with yet another friend, and later gave an impromptu five-minute lecture on love and relationships to the first friend.
Finally, the driver called his own girlfriend to update her on all the unfolding drama. “The man has a more interesting social circle than anyone I know. How do I tell him I don’t want to end the ride now?” Ahmed added.

The post garnered a million views, triggering a flurry of reactions. “This is more about the time spent in the cab for you to reach your destination than his social circle or lack of yours,” a user wrote. “I always think that uber drivers in NCR have a very happening social life,” another user commented.
“Damn this is rivetting. You could have changed destination to the farthest point you can think of. Next time can you do start an X Space so we can all listen along?” a third user said.
