A Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus went out of control near the Chinnaswamy Stadium, crashing into nine vehicles, including three autorickshaws, three cars, and several two-wheelers, after the driver reportedly suffered a sudden seizure while driving.
According to multiple reports, the incident unfolded when the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator upon suffering a seizure, sending the bus moving through the busy stretch. The viral video shows the driver losing control as the conductor desperately tries but fails to stop the vehicle.

The video quickly drew attention, sparking a conversation on health hazards involving poor roads in India. “Bus driving is a highly stressful job. Especially in our traffic locked cities flooded with bad drivers. The drivers need to be taken care of,” an X user wrote. “bus drivers often neglected, protest against very low wages. gov instead of focusing on just electoral gains & FreeB, shud conduct regular medical checkup on these ppl,” another user commented.
“Constant stress in the horrible Indian roads causes this,” a third user reacted. “Regular health checkups, break time, mental fitness is necessary for all,” a fourth user wrote.
“It all happened in seconds—the bus just veered off and rammed into everything in front of it,” one witness told The Hindu. The report stated that no casualties or injuries were reported, and bystanders, along with emergency services, quickly intervened to ensure everyone’s safety.
The driver was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. BMTC officials later confirmed that he is “in stable condition and recovering well,” adding that the accident was “solely the result of an unforeseen medical emergency” rather than negligence or a mechanical malfunction.
Traffic police quickly removed the damaged vehicles from the busy road, the report added.
