
Incessant rainfall has led to flood-like situations in several parts of India. Many videos showing bridges falling, dangerous potholes on roads, and severe waterlogging are being widely circulated on social media.
Among these is one video, showing a woman falling into a giant pothole as the road she was walking on caves in, that is going viral. Sharing the video, an X user said, “This is the condition of the road Rampath built in Ayodhya after the first rain. Its length is 13 kilometers. The total cost is 844 crores i.e. about 65 crore rupees have been spent in the construction of 1 kilometer. The company that built the road is from Gujarat….,”

After the video grabbed attention, the official X handle of Ayodhya police responded to the user calling it “misleading” and “false”. “The video being circulated in the above post is not related to Ayodhya district. Ayodhya police denies this misleading and false news. Legal action will be taken against the person who spread this misleading news.”

The video is originally from Brazil’s Cascavel, and is from 2022.
Many social media users demanded strict action against the user for spreading a fake video. “Thank you! After taking action, please post it so that everyone can know about it,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Please circulate her apology letter after the action is taken.”
“Thank you sir, please arrest the person and set an example,” a third user wrote.
