A Pakistani lawyer wants Mohenjodaro’s ‘Dancing Girl’ from India and here’s what Indians are offering instead

You'll roll on the floor laughing!

Apparently, a Pakistani lawyer Javed Iqbal Jaffrey has filed a petition in Lahore High Court to ask the government to claim a 5,000-year-old bronze statue called ‘Dancing Girl’ from India. His said the statue which was discovered in 1926 from Mohenjodaro – the ancient city of the Indus Valley Civilisation in Sindh –
was taken 60 years ago and was never returned.

“It was taken to India around 60 years ago at the request of the National Arts Council, Delhi, and was never brought back,” a report in Pakistani newspaper Dawn claimed.

In fact, they intend to write a letter to the United Nations regarding the matter. Jamal Shah, director general of the Pakistan National Museum of Arts, in a statement said that a letter would be written to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to bring the statue back. “This is important if we want to protect our heritage,” said Shah.

But guess how Indians responded? Obviously, the Twitter army was not ready to return the statue. Insread, they offered them the whole of Mohenjodaro. Well, the movie! Yes, Twitterati offered them Ashutosh Gowarikar’s movie Mohenjodaro. “No, we won’t give you Pooja Hegde,” joked a user.
