An Indian YouTuber who recently visited China is making waves with a video comparing Chinese general class train coaches and India, showing similarities between the two countries’ travelling experiences. The YouTuber discovers passengers sitting on the floor near the washrooms, which is common in Indian trains.

In the viral video, the YouTuber can be seen on a bullet train. Several passengers can be seen seated, and a few standing near the toilet area. The YouTuber also shares that many passengers bring their own chairs and buckets onboard. Some passengers were also seen occupying the space under a seat.

Sharing the video, an X handle @gemsofbabus_ wrote, “Indian YouTuber finds the Chinese General Class similar to the Indian General Class. The only difference is that these have AC & Automatic Doors. People are sitting outside the washroom and traveling with buckets and their chairs.”

Shared on September 20, the video garnered over 809,00,00 views as many social media users flocked to the comment section highlighting no ‘gutkha’ stain in the Chinese general train coach. A user wrote, “The train is clean, the passengers aren’t using pan gutkha to stain the train. No one seems to be throwing plastic waste anywhere they seem fit.” Another user commented, “These are rural and vintage, not the norm. You should mention that China has more HSR (high speed rail) than the rest of the world combined. The tickets are affordable and over 13 billion cumulative trips a year.”

“Anyone claiming that as the only difference has probably never taken a general class in India. The YouTuber would not have been able to move so freely in an Indian general class! (In addition, I hope the YouTuber clarified that these are the non-high-speed trains of China.),” a third user said.
