Bryan Berg, the popular American card-stacking artist and architect, created a new Guinness World Record by constructing a 54-level house of cards in just eight hours. The architect achieved the feat without using wires, glue, or any metal supports.
In the now-viral video shared by the Guinness World Records (GWR) on Instagram, Berg can be seen building the structure as a stopwatch ticks by. After completing the record, he places a mobile phone on the top of the card tower. According to the GWR website, Berg constructed the eight-story house of cards in a nearly airtight room to maintain a high level of humidity to keep the cards stable during the process.
“Tallest house of cards built in 8 hours! Congratulations to Bryan Berg on his new record and for completing @honorglobal’s challenge to test just how light & thin their HONOR MagicV3 is!” GWR wrote on Instagram.

Several social media users hailed Berg for achieving the new milestone. A user wrote, “These are the kind of records I’m here for.” Another user commented, “That was fun to watch! I love anything with cards.”
“It’s unbroken record believe me it looks like magic but it’s real,” a third user reacted.
This is not the first time that Berg set such a record — he holds the record for building the tallest playing card structure several times. Berg created the world’s largest playing card structure, a replica of three Macau hotels. The record was broken by India’s Arnav Daga last year.
